Skincare done right.
It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Dermalogica, and they’ve done it again with the release of two new products to help you beat the visible toll of stresses on your skin.
I’ve been using this for quite a few months now. It’s really great for those mornings when you’re just not feeling it (these tend to be Mondays).
HOW TO: Squeeze the tube and apply 3 dots on top of your eye, evenly from the beginning of your eyebrow to end. Repeat under your eye. Then massage the product into your skin, I mostly do this with circular motions.
VERDICT: I love how this product makes the skin around my eye feel calm and fresh; I feel like the skin has more elasticity. It was especially refreshing in the warmer months due to the cooling metal applicator.
This is a relatively new product and I have to admit I hadn’t given much thought to this area of my face when it comes to anti-aging skincare.
HOW TO: Apply the same way as the Dermalogica Stress Positive Eye Lift; 3 dots below your mouth and 3 dots above. Massage the product in, focusing on the laugh lines (this is a big ones for me, so I spend a little extra time here). Also massage along the lip line and finish off by using your finger to massage the excess into your lips.
VERDICT: I’m forever searching for great lip products and the fact that this targets my lips and the area around them is great! It’s a really quick way to make sure you’re looking after this area of the face. As they say, it’s never too young to start with the anti-aging products!

Working out in winter is as tough as it gets. After a long day, do you really want to come home to change into your workout clothes and get on with it? Hell. No. On the other hand, do you really want to give up precious time that could be spent sleeping to get hot and sweaty before work? I mean, that’s not even an option for me. I would just turn my alarm off and re-set it for an hour’s time. But I’ve got to get back into it and these tips have helped me make a start:
Find a Workout Partner
Find someone to workout with that will make you go. Someone who you would feel guilty letting down if you cancelled. And once you have them, don’t cancel. Because that’s a slippery, slippery slope.
Find your favourite exercise
For me, it’s basketball and because my partner also plays, it makes for a fun 30 minutes of cardio. It also makes the other stuff (weights, squats, etc.) a little more bearable. If you’re not into sports, find a class. Yoga anyone?
Get some new activewear
Chances are that if you’re reading this blog you have a slight interest in fashion. To get me a little more motivated to do some squats while it’s 9 degrees outside, I visit Lululemon. Both my tights and tee are from Lululemon and they’re seriously the best, I’ve never owned a more comfortable pair of tights! And don’t even get me started about this jacket, it’s my favourite thing I’ve purchased for at least a year. Although mildly impractical for working out, it’s perfect for nighttime beach walks.
What are your tips for working out in winter?
