Following Aje, the second instalment of Adelaide Fashion Festival’s Super Saturday was Acler. The brainchild of the talented duo Kathryn Forth and Julia Ritorto, it’s the Adelaide success story worn by the likes of Beyonce and Katy Perry. Acler has a focus on creating sophisticated and unique designs, known best for its draped silhouettes, intricate detailing and on trend statements.
The runway showcased Acler’s current collection as well as their upcoming Winter ’19 and Resort ’19 collections. This was probably my favourite runway of the whole week, falling in love with each and every design to come down the runway. Pops of vibrant colours were consistent throughout the week’s runways, with yellow/mustard being the clear standout. Other major trends included: balloon sleeves, layering – sometimes with three garments, and an element of undone sophistication.
Acler has become one of my new favourite destination for minimalist fashion – masters at taking a classic design and creating something completely unique to the brand.
