Supporting local South Australian talent is something I dedicate my time to but especially at Adelaide Fashion Festival. This year’s runway saw some of my favourites debut their current and/or upcoming collections, including: Harvey the Label, Katya Komarova, Stephanie Chehade, The Daily Edited, Tiff Manuell and The Wolf Gang. And of course, the runway was styled by Vogue fashion editor Philippa Moroney – a true legend in the industry, who I actually had the pleasure of meeting and can confirm: she’s humble, raw and honest.
I loved the edginess of the styling, from chunky boots with delicate dresses, to the bold leather straps of Katya Komarova’s collection paired with silk scarves. The SA Designer showcase always pushes boundaries with styling, and this year was obviously no different; it’s that idea of juxtaposing styles that can really come together to create a completely unique outfit.
With the weather warming up, femininity is also creeping back into women’s fashion – after a long run with Normcore and basics on basics (I’m not stopping though). Featuring petite buttons, subtle frills, tulle, tie details, and lace, this season’s looks are going to be romantic, sweet and statement.
